NASONEX is a prescription nasal allergy spray approved for the treatment of seasonal and perennial nasal allergy symptoms in adults and children 2 years of age and older.

NASONEX can treat outdoor and year-round indoor nasal allergy symptoms in patients 2 years of age and older. It is also used to help prevent most seasonal nasal allergy symptoms before they start in patients 12 years and older, when taken 2 to 4 weeks before the start of allergy season. In addition, for patients 18 years and older, NASONEX can treat nasal polyps and help reduce the nasal congestion/obstruction they can cause.

SAFETY INFORMATION

NASONEX is scent-free, alcohol-free, non-addictive, and non-habit forming. It won’t cause drowsiness, or keep you up at night. NASONEX® also doesn’t cause “rebound effect” like some over-the-counter nasal decongestant sprays when used longer than the recommended period.

►Do not take NASONEX if:

• you have allergies to:
  • any medicine containing mometasone furoate
  • any of NASONEX’ ingredients
• you have a tendency to bleed or recurrent nose bleeding
• you have severe nose infection, especially fungal infection
• you have had recent nose injury or nose surgery; check with your doctor, because you may be told to wait until healing has occurred before using this medicine.

►Before you start taking NASONEX, tell your doctor if you have:

• recently had nose surgery
• recently had nose surgery
• nasal septum ulcer
• nose damage

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

►MOST COMMON SIDE EFFECTS:

• headache
• viral infection
• sore throat
• nosebleeds
• coughing

NASONEX is an intranasal corticosteroid, not an anabolic steroid—which are sometimes misused to enlarge muscle mass and can have serious side effects.

INGREDIENTS

Active ingredient:

• Mometasone furoate monohydrate

Inactive ingredients:

• Dispersible cellulose, glycerol, citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate, polysorbate 80 and purified water.

Preservatives:

• Benzalkonium chloride
